About Us

Tuluwene Foundation is a collaboration of the family of the late Pastor Tuluwene Reuben Kulanga, who witnessed the grace and faithfulness of God throughout their lives, largely grounded in biblical principles. The foundation aims to transform the lives of others by empowering businesses and emerging youth leaders to flourish through the application of the same godly principles, values, and mindset that shaped the family’s journey. Through faith-driven transformation, mentorship, and empowerment, the foundation seeks to inspire sustainable growth, servant leadership, and holistic community development.

Our Beliefs

We equip leaders to transform mindsets and deepen trust to grow profits for shared prosperity. Tuluwene Foundation has four core beliefs:

Successful Businesses

Successful businesses are best equipped to reduce poverty through job creation and economic stimulus.

Redemptive Businesses

This serve staff through meaningful and creative work and deliver products and services that promote the common good.

Mindsets

Mindsets based on flawed beliefs and broken relationships are the principal cause of poor performance and limited impact of businesses.

Biblical Mindset

A Biblical mindset restores trust and relationships to build redemptive businesses that glorify God.

But yet, majority of community in Tanzania face shortage of WASH related services. Hence, at the same time Tuluwene aim to support availability and accessibility of WASH services to those communities.

The Story

Having served with World Vision International for more than twenty-three years and living alongside vulnerable communities, while hands-on testing many development models and approaches for human transformation, I came to realize that the most effective transformative approach is the Biblical Empowered Worldview. Under the leadership of Tim Andrews, World Vision Tanzania experienced transformative change through Empowered Worldview initiatives.

The Empowered Worldview approach is rooted in the understanding that mindset is often what keeps people trapped in poverty. Therefore, when people experience a transformation of mindset through biblical principles, genuine and sustainable transformation can take place.

Application

Identity

Participants gain an awareness of their identity in Christ as made in the image of God—that they are loved and valued and are co-creators of His earth. They learn to be free from fear and superstition so they can live full and abundant lives. Participants see themselves as God sees us— valued and precious. As a result, they see others in the same light, made in the image of God. They respect and value others even if they are very different in values and behaviors.

Participants have an awareness and understanding of God’s vision for individuals, families and communities to live in harmony. They are encouraged to benefit from the fruits of their labors, and to be free of greed, exploitation and oppression. Participants have a desire and determination to engage the church in working alongside its community to improve livelihoods and well-being.

Participants come away with a heart for the poor and fully appreciate the central place of compassion by studying Jesus’ example. Participants have a compassionate attitude and demonstrate it practically in their community by individual acts of kindness and by supporting small projects. Ultimately, a compassionate attitude becomes a way of life.

Participants see the importance of relationship building, even with people who are very different in values and lifestyle. Participants are motivated to spend time with people different from themselves to build trust and community.

Participants are challenged to be more courageous and take risks in coming alongside their community, trusting God and working together to improve and change the lives of individuals, families and communities. Participants are also encouraged to trust God to make use of the few resources they have to benefit the community. Participants see the value of stepping out of their comfort zone when working with their community.

Focuses on empowering the local church to be a catalyst for transformation in their communities. For Muslim groups, EWV focuses on relationship building to create trust so Christians and Muslims can work together to identify common community needs and address them to improve the well-being of children. For youth, EWV focuses on short-term, energizing projects that are achievable, build confidence, and create a sense of belonging. For smallholder farmers, EWV uses the Empowered Worldview Community

The primary role that faith leaders play is to provide purpose and moral direction to the communities they serve. Through change in an attitude or belief of one faith leader, the lives of thousands within a community can be transformed. Combined with an evidence-base and a message by experts (e.g. agricultural professionals), the approach of engaging faith leaders to promote an idea has yielded significant results, even to seemingly intractable problems. Faith leaders have been engaged in addressing the stigma and discrimination surrounding HIV and AIDS; have helped to ensure that children are immunized; have played a key role in reducing rates of infection to end the Ebola crisis in West Africa; and have played a key role in reducing levels of female genital mutilation and cutting (FGM/C).
